Diamond Platnumz – Sona ft. Adekunle Gold

‘Sona’ is the fifth song housed under Diamond Platnumz’s extended play ‘First Of All’ and it features Nigerian singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold.

Succeeding his three highly acclaimed albums, Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz’s debut extended play First Of All blends a variety of sounds into a dosage of smooth melodies.  “I attempted to provide the people of the world different types of music.” , “When the world began to open up, I traveled to several nations and began recording myself.”, he said speaking to Apple Music.

A variety of cross-continental rhythms merge over an entertaining 10 songs covering bongo flava, Afrobeats, soukous, amapiano, and zouk, with notable cameos by Focalistic, Pabi Cooper, Zuchu, Mbosso, Jaywillz, and Adekunle Gold.

Speaking extensively on Sona, he said;

“The plan was not to have any collabs on this EP, but I thought I should at least have Adekunle on my EP; then two or three. I was like, ‘I think I need to get a different taste– something different.’ I’m a fan, and when he came to Tanzania he had a song with Zuchu as well. AG sent me this song; we recorded and the rest is history. We went to Nigeria to shoot with TG Omori and it’s the sickest video.”
